This shore bird decoy sculpture on a willow stump base is hand carved from one piece of wood and is made from basswood. It is painted by hand in cream and burnt sienna paint. It has one wood dowel attaching it to the base.
This bird is carved in the classic decoy manor and was presented to the Early American Life Magazine as a second sculpture for their Directory of Traditional American Crafts Artists of 2022 and comes with a hang tag from the magazine showing this.
It is signed and dated on underside of base.
